Hello out there in Yamaha land.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the proper (no pun intended) size prop for a TXRB 150 two-stroke pushing a 19 ft center console Mako (2000). Bought the boat used with a non-original engine and non-original prop. The engine runs great with no problems, carbs and pumps just redone and new plugs, except I only get 4800rpm at 37mph or so. Compression was checked before purchase (almost new like compression). So I was questioning the prop size since its not original to the engine. It is a Protech SS 3 blade 14-1/4 x 19. I am told that this boat / motor combo could do 50mph full trim at 5500.
What else could it be ?? Any suggestions would be appreciated . . . .
