I have a 1985 115 ETLK that the oil tank on the motor itself will not quit filling when the key is in the on position. It just ends up blowing the oil out the overflow or vent.
Before you throw down for new parts try bypassing the 4 pin plug from the module to the float. This worked for mine.
The plug looked OK with some small, small amount of corrosion I tried cleaning then as a last resort cut off the plug and stripped back the wires and connected them directly to the float harness. Works great!
