No you cannot.....the prop will be frothing the surface of the water because......your 5" too short.

I have an '06 90 TLR (new in 2008), currently on my skiff with a 20" transom.

I am considering a few boats that have 25" transoms. I haven't been able to find any versions of this engine with a 25" midsection (90 TLXR?), or an adapter kit like I've seen on other engines (midsection spacer, driveshaft, shift shaft, water tube).

Is there such thing as a 25 in midsection for these engines? Maybe in foreign markets?

I like the engine, and its paid for, I'd really rather not have to buy a new one or make a drop-down setback plate.

I may have answered my own question.

Bat Manufacturing offers 5" extension kits for many engines, including the 90 TLR.
