I have a starting problem that seems to be a fuel problem. Runs with starting fluid. I started to remove the carb. The carb has a device with two wires. I found the device on the web from a parts list listed as a "prime starter assembly". I downloaded a Service Manual from the Web and the same part is listed as a electrothermal Ram. The Manual lists the resistance as 4 oms, Measures 20. Can someone help with the function of this device?

Do a forum search on prime start or google it and read up on the system.
it enriches the fuel during start up and warm up, closes off when motor has warmed up due to the 12 volts put out from motor while running heating up that unit and expanding a wax pellet pushing the rod out, closing the passage.
