Steering bracket assembly

My steering bracket assembly(part#6e5-42510-03ek)Broke right at connection point to the steering linkage(rot). I was told this could cost up to $4k to fix due to the removal needed to get this piece replaced (power head). The engine is a 1992 ,runs great yet I do not want to spend $4k on an old engine, any ideas?

Check around to see if anyone else can replace it for you for less. There is lot of labor involved to remove powerhead lower unit and usually drilling and tapping broke bolts but that seems like a high price.
