Power head question 3.1 liter switching

I have a 2001 V-max ox66 3.1 liter. Looking to put this power head on a 2000 250 3.1 liter ox66 motor are they interchangeable?? I believe I can just change out the ECM, is this correct??

You didn't mention horsepower of 2001 motor but it will work just use all components on 2001 motor.

Yes its a 200hp V-max

I have never tried but it should work as long as you use all the 250 is complete with all the componets.

Ran the boat last night and everything is 100%.... After I figured out that motor runs on 5 cylinder’s down low!!

I though just the 225 & 250 ran on 5-cyl at low RPM, or is this unique to the 200HP V-Max.

I was switching a V-Max 200 3.1 liter short block to a ox66 250. I was used to the way the motor sounded as a VM so when I switched to the 250 it sounded like it was missing a cyclinder. I forgot the ox66 225 and the 250 did that.
